Help bring The Sorting Bun's brain drain and community opportunity summit from idea to implementation. Interns support research, partner and stakeholder outreach, programming, event logistics, sponsorship development, promotion, and evaluation while gaining experience in community health and collaborative program development.

Support research that helps The Sorting Bun understand why people leave, what encourages them to stay or return, and which investments can strengthen local economies. Projects may include literature reviews, data collection, policy research, needs assessments, program evaluation, and translating findings into practical recommendations.
Study how places become somewhere people want to stay, return to, and invest in. Interns participate in applied research, community and space assessments, placemaking projects, data collection, program evaluation, and the development or reimagining of spaces designed to strengthen quality of life and local economic vitality. Projects may move beyond research into testing ideas in real spaces and evaluating whether they work.

Help turn products and storytelling into mission support. Interns work across The Sorting Bun and TSB & Co. on social media, public relations, digital content, e-commerce, product marketing, campaigns, sponsorships, fundraising, and communicating the connection between purchases and community impact.

Learn to teach outside the “traditional” classroom. Future educators gain hands-on experience working with children through The Sorting Bun's summer learning program while receiving mentorship, professional development, and education assistance. Fellows build practical classroom and leadership skills while preparing to enter—and remain in—education careers.
